I was so ecstatic when Chris and Moury chose the Cleveland Botanical Gardens for their September wedding - it's a perfect venue for this time of year, with a mix of gorgeous outdoor space to explore and modern indoor space in which to cool down. It's also the perfect venue for their style - an updated, romantic take on lush and organic. We played off this feel for the decor, thanks to our talented florists, Urban Orchid and Blooms by Plantscaping: escort cards planted in a bed of moss, simple centerpieces dripping with whimsical ferns, an unconventional mandap covered in trailing vines. It almost felt like we had set up the wedding in the spring and simply allowed the flowers and greenery to grow themselves into position all summer!

Chris and Moury were very much like this as a couple as well - completely natural, like they had known each other since the beginning of time. They were also a very modern, tech-savy couple, and injected some wonderful fresh ideas, and also some humor, into the wedding: live-streaming for relatives from afar, selfie-sticks for guests, a knife from Rambo for the cake cutting. I can say with certainty that I have missed working with these two - of course, I was so happy when Moury texted me a few months ago to tell me they had been featured in The Knot! I'll always treasure the memory of watching the two of them and their families enjoy this perfect summer night, with the candles on their tables reflecting into the glass window, illuminating the gardens in a sea of twinkling light.
