This event came about as I was approached by Melissa at the Intercontinental Hotel to work with her on creating a unique and eclectic bridal show of sorts. Our goals included making the event informative and valuable for brides, offering them a chance to see in real-life what some vendors actually do instead of just a regular bridal trade show booth, as well as illustrating how beautiful their ballroom and spaces can look when dressed up for a wedding.
It's not every day we get to leave our regular process behind and make all the decisions on an event! Typically we're working with a client to do so. Having just given a presentation on Wedding Trends for the ILEA Wedding Event in November, I utilized some of my research and decided to use a Tuscan wedding style with bold colors like coral, yellow and lots of greenery.
We started out in the custom amphitheater that the Intercontinental has right across from their ballroom and did a few quick but entertaining WEDtalks. The topics included Top 10 things a wedding planner wants every engaged couple to know when planning a wedding, How to choose between a Band and a DJ for your big day, Top Questions to ask your Wedding Photographer, and a Real Experience Having a Wedding at the Intercontinental Hotel.
A decorative man cave complete with comfort food and a bourbon bar was set up in an adjacent room for cocktail hour. Upon completion of the WEDtalks, everyone was invited into the ballroom to enjoy delicious food, take in the vendor talents of flowers, lighting, linens, personalized bars, music, cake, desserts, cotton candy and more! We had such great feedback on the event from guests and vendors! Not to mention, each vendor donated a giveaway from their business that was raffled off for anyone in attendance to win!
We loved being a part of an out of the box event and look forward to more weddings and events at the Intercontinental as well as sharing more of our tips and advice with engaged audiences in the future.

Review from Mother of the Bride, Janet:
Allison Miller was wonderful to work with throughout the process. This was an out of town wedding for us as we live out of state. I was able to enjoy our daughter's wedding knowing everything was being taken care of. No detail was left unattended to. We could not have done this without her. She was timely in her communications with us and questions and issues were dealt with promptly. Every vendor she recommended was top notch and excellent, plus at a great price. I could not recommend Allison highly enough! The compliments from our guests keep coming in about how our wedding and reception were the best they've ever attended. The groom's parents told us we knocked it out of the park and everything was on point and excellent. There's nothing we would change. You've given us a lifetime of memories to cherish! Allison's team was top-notch too and so helpful in so many ways the day of the wedding. It was a magical day, perfect in every way and Allison made our dream a reality. One of the best decisions we made was contracting with Allison as our wedding planner. There aren't enough superlatives to describe how wonderful she was.
