This was my second wedding with the Wellener Family. Ryan & Haley were dating when I planned Haley’s older sister's wedding in 2021. I knew when I met them both they had something special. So when Nancy, mom of the bride, reached out to tell me the exciting news that Haley & Ryan were engaged I was thrilled on many levels. One, I was so happy for Haley & Ryan, but also that they called me to help plan another wedding with them. What a huge honor!
This wedding was quite different since we were incorporating both American & Indian culture to the wedding weekend. We kicked off the weekend with a sunny morning Baraat. The lively entrance and celebratory atmosphere was truly a joyous start to the wedding weekend. The groom entered on his decorated horse and danced along with friends and family. The bride even made a surprise entrance half way through the baraat! The bride donned a stunning blend of traditional Indian attire and modern American elegance, embodying the harmonious union.
After the ceremony, the family hosted a lively cocktail hour and luncheon. There were heartfelt speeches, vibrant flowers, Indian-inspired decor and food.
On Sunday, the Western ceremony unfolded at the Cleveland History Center, where the couple exchanged vows in a picturesque English-style garden. The backdrop was adorned with lush greenery and colorful flowers, creating a charming setting for the union. Against this natural tapestry, the couple’s dog added an adorable touch by joining in for a few heartwarming photos and even strolling down the aisle.
At the reception, there was an indulgent dessert spread of Mitchell’s ice cream and custom-made Indian sweets from Bon Appetit’s amazing pastry chef. Guests delighted in savoring the cultural blend both in the ambiance and delightful culinary offering, making this a truly memorable and flavorful occasion.
This colorful spring fusion wedding wouldn’t have been complete without the extraordinary vendors. The meticulous details of the florist and decorator, the culinary team, photographers and videographers, all played a pivotal role in bringing the celebration to life. Their collective creativity and attention to detail seamlessly wove together the cultural elements, creating an atmosphere that transcended expectations. The collaborative spirit of these amazing vendors not only ensured the event's success, but also added an extra layer of joy and appreciation for the bride, groom and guests alike.
