If you're reading this you're either a current client, past client, person wanting to get engaged, someone who loves weddings, someone who wants to be a wedding planner, one of my loyal friends or family members who follow our work, or last but not least, someone who just got engaged over the holidays!!!
Each year, we look forward to the rush of excited brides who can't wait to find that perfect venue and start planning their wedding. Most do not want to wait an entire year and a half or two years to get married, so that is why we construct our workflow perfectly to expect still many of our bookings to come during the holiday rush for the upcoming year. YES, it is still possible to plan your wedding starting now for 2011!
Did you know...
- Wedding planners are not just for people with lavish wedding budgets. Kirkbrides regularly does and has done weddings on all budgets.
- If the cost of hiring a wedding planner keeps you on budget from the beginning, saves you valuable time and allows you to actually enjoy the wedding planning process then is it really too expensive?
- I think you'd be surprised at how low the total cost of some of our weddings pictured on our blog are. That's what we aim for!
- A wedding planner can recommend ideas to include and how to arrange your wedding that you may have never thought of on your own, because you aren't immersed in weddings every day of your life like we are!
- Our clients enjoy the convenience of our familiar, positive relationships with countless venues and vendors in the Cleveland landscape of weddings.
- There are hundreds of ways to make your wedding look like a million bucks without actually spending anywhere close to that.

If romance is what you want on your wedding day, this Moonlight Magic theme is perfect for you!
Purple has been and still is a very popular wedding color and can be done in so many different ways. This board would be perfect for any type of outdoor, summery reception. I can just picture guests sipping lavender lemonade while relaxing outside on some beautiful patio furniture!
I usually curse the first snowfall of the season. I am truly a freeze baby! But this first snowfall on November 5th was a welcoming addition to a magical day for a truly magical couple. I am so glad that the bride, Renita decided to add design to her wedding package. We had the most fun creating her perfect day. She was open to ideas and wasn't afraid of color. It didn't hurt that Renita is also gorgeous and I was over the moon excited while waiting for the overly talented Mary Wyar of Mary Wyar Photography's amazing pictures! When I saw Renita for the first time that day she had fabulous red lips and a lovely peacock colored clutch. Adding her deep red bouquet complete with red feathers by Tina of Prestige Floral made everything come to life. The whole day was filled with warmth and joy. I was so thrilled to be helping two amazing people start their lives together. Their ceremony was at the glorious St. Stanislaus Church with a reception following at Windows on the River. Everything came together to create a beautiful Old Hollywood feel. At the end of the evening, guests enjoyed Polish sweets and a popcorn bar! It was a fabulous day and I wish them nothing but good health and happiness!
Here's a lovely note left by Renita on weddingchannel.com:
Thanks to Kirkbrides, we had a wedding that went beyond all of our expectations. Kirkbrides planner Allison, like the company owner, Valarie, listens carefully and brings your vision to life. More than once a couple friends seemed puzzled when I talked to them about not one or two wedding colors but rather a series of "jewel tones." Allison never questioned it! And on the wedding day those friends said, "it's gorgeous, I can't believe how this all came together. I couldn't imagine it." That's the power of the creative planners at Kirkbrides! Thanks to Allison, we had a fun and glamorous-feeling affair that suited our personalities... and didn't blow our budget! I initially only booked day-of coordination but expanded my package with Kirkbrides as it hit me that I would not be able to handle certain design details the way I wanted while planning my Cleveland wedding from DC. It turned out to be one of the best investments we made. The support team at Kirkbrides is fabulous too... a wonderful, helpful assistant and intern that always had smiles on their faces. And when I forgot to order my individually packaged favors from a local popcorn shop, Allison magically transformed that mistake (just days before the wedding) into one of the guests' favorite parts... a popcorn bar! If you're planning on hiring a planner, call Kirkbrides.
After meeting Charlie and Maggie for the first time, I couldn't contain my excitement for their shabby chic style wedding. Maggie has a real eye for wedding details right down to using her very own antique white cabinet to display their programs. She was very hands on throughout the process. She painted the chartreuse letter E that was displayed throughout the evening and made her own tag board for her place cards. It doesn't surprise me that Maggie is now a contributor for Style Me Pretty! She even used their very own silhouettes for the sticker on their invitations. She thought of everything! The weather that weekend was sunny and warm and it fit their personalities just perfectly. The Hillbrook Club was a stunning backdrop for the gray linens and chartreuse napkins. The tables were finished with a beautiful floral centerpiece or set of white candles by Grand Designs. One of my favorite parts of their wedding was being able to work with the uber talented husband and wife team of Kortnee Kate Photography! I had heard so many great things about them. They certainly didnt disappoint! I knew the photographs would be unique when Kortnee asked the staff to move a couch on to the lawn! The evening was really magical and guests danced the night away with music provided by The DJ Crew. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day for a very sweet couple!
This September 25 wedding contained a lot of "firsts" for Kirkbrides.
- One, it was the first time we did weddings for two sisters!
- Second, it was the first time we planned a wedding in Pittsburgh.
- Third, it was the first time I had a groom dress in his military uniform and have his fellow air force members perform a Saber Arch after the ceremony!
- And last but certainly not least, one of Abby's brothers wrote and performed a song dedicated to her - it was meaningful, sentimental, funny and catchy! It was a wonderful moment outside of the "regular" wedding routine of events.
It was wonderful to work out of town for a weekend (and a few separate trips leading up to it!), and interesting to see weddings done in a different city. Congratulations Abby and TJ!!!

Note from mother of the bride:
Hi Valarie,
Van and I would like to thank you for all your hard work. Both occasions were
dreams come true. Once again, thank you for all your work. I can't believe both my girls are married and gone in less than 6 months?! But the weddings couldn't have
been more beautiful. I'll recommend you to everyone. Love, Kristen
