I first met Brendon and Emily through a dear friend of mine, Bev at the Invitation Studio. I have worked with Bev for years now on beautiful invitation orders for my clients! Brendon is Bev's son and to say she was excited when he proposed to Emily would be an understatement. :-) I guess they had heard about me from her and once they started looking for locations realized they may need some help due to their busy work schedules. I was so happy when they decided to include me in their plans and we started working on getting vendors booked and creating the design right away.
Emily started out with her vision of chocolate brown and cream and a simply elegant idea. As you can see from the pictures, she changed her mind throughout the process which is something that brides go through (and need to!) to finally arrive at what they want and is right for them.
There are many highlights of the day, as this wedding was absolutely over the top and incredible. Here are just a few:
Without further adieu, here are the images from the day from Linczak Photography.
A lovely note I received from Emily shortly after her wedding!

There are many highlights of the day, as this wedding was absolutely over the top and incredible. Here are just a few:
- The genuine LOVE that all who were in attendance that day could see that these two share for each other -- they were just so cute and the end of the ceremony truly brought tears to my eyes.
- Brendon's Dad constructed and designed their chuppah so that they can keep it in their backyard on their deck or patio and always remember their wedding day! How wonderful is THAT?!
- Working with Rachel and Ted from Linczak Photography, who totally hit it off with the bride and groom and did so many extras for them including a large canvas print from their engagement session and a slideshow displayed at the end of the night of the formal images from the beginning of the day
- Working with the wonderful staff at one of my favorite locations in Cleveland, the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
Without further adieu, here are the images from the day from Linczak Photography.
This gorgeous cake was created by Lauren and Marianne at White Flower Cake Shoppe. A miniature version was created to be gluten-free for the guests who required that!
A lovely note I received from Emily shortly after her wedding!
I am honored to have THREE of our weddings published in current Cleveland wedding magazines!

As you can see, Kirkbrides now has an official Facebook page! It's about time, right? We will be bringing our own cameras to our weddings and taking our own pictures in 2010. It's hard to take a ton since we are so busy running around working with the vendors, taking care of the bride and groom and setting things up, but we are going to try! These pictures will be posted on the Facebook page only, as the blog is typically reserved for the beautiful, professional pictures that our wonderful photographers pass on to us. Please click on the link to the right and become a fan today so that you can see all of the exciting updates.
I also started my Twitter account! We get so many inquiries from people generally interested in what we do. Although we are taking on a few interns this year, we unfortunately can't let everyone join our team and wanted to offer out a day-to-day update of what we are doing. I have had fun updating so far and plan to keep up with it. So click on the link to the right and join today!
Hope everyone has had a wonderful start to 2010 and thank you for reading the Kirkbrides blog!

Yesterday at the wedding I had the honor of coordinating for Laura and Chuck (blog post to come later!), I saw she had her veil hanging on the cutest silver hanger with the metal formed in the letters of "laura&chuck". Perfect for pictures! Available on Etsy, check it out:

I thought photographers and brides alike would love this!
While I'm not a fan (personally) of the DIY giftboxes for cards on the wedding gift table, I also have come across this great company called For the Modern Bride who makes custom card boxes that look professional and very well made. I am placing an order to add a few "general designs" (that I get to pick out, yay!) to our repertoire for our clients! Unfortunately they won't arrive until SEPTEMBER, but even more reason to work with us on 2011 weddings!
Lastly, one of my 2010 brides for April (yay! LOVE April weddings because they feel like a head start) is ordering one of these extremely custom cake toppers resembling her and her fiance, also available on Etsy. I cannot wait to see this on top of the cake on her wedding day, and get a picture with them next to it!

From Rachael:
I had the pleasure of getting to know Kate and Keith starting in December 2008 as we began the journey of planning their wedding for the following July. I absolutely loved working with this couple whose fun personality was apparent from the beginning and even further represented in their unique wedding theme. They chose to do a modified “Fiesta” themed wedding in honor of their love of Mexico. This was such a fun event to plan!! We were able to create a day that was everything a wedding should be; beautiful, memorable, fun, and in keeping with the couple’s personality and style.
The setting at Walden Inn in Aurora was perfect for the relaxed feel they wanted for their outdoor ceremony and “south of the border” reception. After watching Kate and Keith exchange vows outside, guests were invited inside for tea and lemonade. Next a mariachi band entertained the crowd with some authentic Mexican music-the perfect thing to start the fun for the rest of the evening!
Several other details really helped pull together the whole feel we were going for; vintage postcards from Mexico stood in for table numbers, limes filled tall cylinder vases topped with branches as centerpieces, mini tequila bottles with tags attached doubled as escort cards and favors, and authentic Mexican wedding banners hung over the dance floor. The night was warm, festive, and full of love. A perfect wedding Fiesta.
Congratulations Kate and Keith! We hope your married life together is just as fun and colorful as your wedding!
