When I received the inquiry from Mayank, I was quite surprised that the groom was reaching
out. I found out very quickly it was because the bride, Amrisha, was in Singapore! Mayank was
in charge of starting the planning process while she was out of the country for work (she would
not back in the states until two months prior to the wedding). To make matters more complex,
he was in Chicago.

After having our first live chat, I knew right away I wanted to work with this couple. They were so
sweet, and kind, and just so excited to be getting married. Amrisha entrusted me and Mayank to
find the perfect venue, of which she did not see until two months before the wedding. Thankfully
she loved it!  Even though the couple was not local, we grew close during the planning period-
those live calls really helped!

Both Amrisha and Mayank have family from India. It was important to them to incorporate some
of the traditions from their heritage, but they also wanted a modern, elegant reception. We
chose to do a traditional Indian ceremony, and a Western reception. The mandap was adorned
with beautiful, bright colors with a backdrop of hanging flowers. It was a perfect accent to the
ivory mandap. The design on the aisle was a custom template made by the florist, Lowe’s
Greenhouse. I loved that they wanted the ceremony and reception to have two different vibes.
The morning was bright and bold, with oranges, reds and yellows. While the evening was soft
and romantic with blush pink, and white, with geometric accents. The sweetheart table was set
for royalty. We incorporated the hanging flowers to tie in the mandap design, added soft lighting
and of course floral and candles.

Amrisha and Mayank looked stunning in their attire, as if they were out of a storybook.  It was so much fun, and a true honor, planning their special day with them.
