Fate and Destiny themed wedding

August 25, 2008

On a particulary hot Sunday morning in early June '05, Tracy had decided to run a local race. Afterwards, all sweaty and gross (definitely not the type of look one goes for when meeting their future husband) she decided to go grocery shopping. She spotted a good looking guy who looked pretty athletic and she hoped that he would start a conversation with her. She still had her race number pinned on her and she felt that would be a great way to break the ice. He didn't take the bait. Not one to back down from a challenge, Tracy came up with a great opening line and while standing in front of the Gatorade display, asked the cute boy to explain the difference between all the different types of Gatorade (laugh if you want). She learned his name was Jeff (although, because of nerves, this would eventually slip her mind). Her genius opening line started a wonderful conversation between the two and then....

Absolutely nothing happened.

As fate (or destiny, or serendipity, or any of the other words we named the tables at their wedding) would have it, a couple days later while attending a meeting for a local running group Tracy saw the cute boy from Heinen's at the same meeting!! Her heart leapt into her throat as he came over and talked to her (and told her his name again - phew!) and they talked about their race plans for the season and then....

Absolutely nothing happened.

Over the next few months Tracy and Jeff would see each other at the local running group's organized runs and they became friends. They ran a race together in October of '05, hi-fived each other at the finish line and then....

Absolutely nothing happened.

A few days later Tracy had made up her mind...This was going to be the day she asked Jeff out. If he was not going to do it after that evening's run, by golly she was going to do it. So they ran together and afterwards stood by their cars and talked. To this day Tracy could not tell you what the conversation entailed because she was too busy trying to work up the nerve to ask him out. She took a deep breath and was about 30 seconds away from asking Jeff out when he FINALLY asked her out!

Yahooooo!

And on August 23, 2008 they got married!

Tracy is one of the classiest girls, not to mention beautiful, and I can see why Jeff fell in love with her! We worked together for many months designing and planning the entire wedding from start to finish. Tracy wanted lively and dramatic decor, so that's what we did! And how cool are the tan suits that the groomsmen wore?!

Truly one of the most amazing and dramatic photography companies I have ever worked with shot this wedding: Genevieve and James from Genevieve Nisly photography. I have to say that they captured the wedding perfectly. I'm amazed at how much emotion comes through in their work. This was the perfect photographer for the perfect wedding!

My post would not be complete without mentioning the awesome first dance, choreographed to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen! Our 80's band kept the reception fun and lively all night, playing some of MY favorites like "Don't you Forget About Me", "She Bop" and "Your Love" (originally by the Outfield).

Congratulations Tracy and Jeff! What a sweet couple. I am so happy for you!
