Patriotic Outdoor Garden Wedding at Hawken School

November 7, 2010

I was thrilled to start working with Lindsey starting in the summer of last year for many reasons.
1.) She has a design degree and background, so I knew this wedding would be beautiful no matter what we ended up with.
2.) I love doing weddings at locations where we have to bring everything in. We were at Hawken School (the groom's alma mater) outside of the "White House". It doesn't get anymore picture-esque than that!
3.) The bride is an absolute sweetheart.

We started off with an idea of a loose patriotic feel, since this wedding date was July 3, 2010. Lindsey also wanted to incorporate a large soft color palette and keep it to a classic and traditional style and garden wedding. Colin was planning on wearing a seersucker suit, need I say more? :)

Highlights of this wedding day include our brass band playing patriotic tunes for cocktail hour, our beautiful crystal chandlier hanging in the middle of the tent, our delicious food stations that all of the guests raved about, and our "Bee's Knee's" specialty drink cocktail, and the father/son bagpipe and drummer duo! There are too many details to mention from this wedding since Lindsey's design background definitely added a ton to the decor, but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Congratulations to Lindsey and Colin, and I know you'll always have the most beautifully decorated house in your neighborhood!
