Betsy and Steve are such an easy-going couple!  They are both such sweet people with a clear love for each other.  During all of our planning these two remained calm and seemingly care-free.  We joked that the most definitive answer Betsy gave in regards to wedding planning was that yes, she wanted to take home the leftover cake after the tasting!  Even right before their first look and right before walking down the aisle the two both seemed so calm and collected.  I fluffed Betsy's train and asked if she was ready to get married, expecting at least a hint of nervousness and she just smiled and said "yep!" and off she went.

Betsy and Steve chose The Tanglewood Club for their ceremony and reception.  The Tanglewood Club is set on such beautiful grounds that the couple didn't even have to leave for their bridal party photos, they all boarded golf carts and spent the afternoon finding photo spots.  We had perfect weather all day long.  The weather was perfect for the outdoor first look and photos, perfect for guest arrivals, and perfect for cocktail hour.  Sometimes you get lucky with weather and that is exactly what happened here.  It seemed like the last guest walked inside for dinner and it started POURING.  It looked so beautiful with all of the windows overlooking the golf course to enjoy dinner during the storm.  Half way through dinner the rain stopped and I spotted an amazing rainbow over the venue!! I grabbed the couple and grabbed the photographer and we ran after the rainbow for some amazing photos.  If anyone deserves a perfect weather day with a beautiful and romantic storm during dinner and a rainbow after, its these two.

Betsy wanted their day to feel classic, elegant, and feminine while remaining understated.  Looking through their photo gallery you can see that is exactly what we did.  From the invitation suite to the simple mix of blush and ivory linens and the cafe au lait filled bouquets everything was the perfect picture of blush and gold simple elegance.  We focused on all low centerpieces to keep things understated with a mix of beautiful blush and ivory florals with gold accents and candlelight.  Even the cake reflected this vibe with its simple ivory buttercream and one large statement dahlia.  When I think even more about it, the day also perfectly reflected the calm demeanor of the couple throughout everything.  Betsy even called me the week of the wedding and asked if there was anything she should be doing.  When I told her everything was covered she made 150 homemade oatmeal raisin cookies, the grooms' favorite, and tied them up in the most adorable packages and brought them as guest favors!  They were delicious too.  It wasn't until the last song was played and the lights came on that Betsy burst into tears because she was sad the day was over.  Thankfully we have this beautiful gallery from Aster + Olive to look back on and remember this absolutely perfect wedding day.

I went to a wedding here several years ago and fell in love. The wedding venues NYC are beautiful and I was so incredibly impressed and charmed with this place that when I got engaged, we didn't even shop around. It was this place or bust.
